ARLINGTON, Va. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Marymount University on Friday evening in an Atlantic East Conference match. Set scores were 25-16, 25-23 and 25-20.
Bre Hickey led the Knights with seven kills and 11 digs.
Ariana Pena and
Lauren Garvey each added five kills.
Dani Smith handed out 12 assists and eight digs.
In set one, tied at nine, the Saints score nine of the next 11 points to take an 18-11 lead. Marymount would take the first set 25-16. Down 23-18 in set two, the Knights notched five straight points to tie the game at 23. However, a Neumann error and a Marymount service ace gave the saints the 25-23 second set win.
In the third set, the Knights took a 10-10 and built a 16-11 edge. The Saints came back to tie the match at 18 and take a 22-18 lead. Marymount sealed the match with a 25-20 set three win.
Neumann (10-12, 2-1 Atlantic East) will host Cabrini on Wednesday evening as it continues conference play. Match is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
