Men's Soccer Heads to Immaculata for Atlantic East Semifinal Matchup

ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's soccer team has advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic East Conference playoffs and will head to Immaculata University on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM.
 
The third seeded Knights entered the playoffs with a regular season record of 3-2-1. The team advanced to the semifinal round after prevailing by a score of 4-2 over sixth seeded Marywood University this past Saturday. Neumann was led on the day by senior Marlon Trejo, who scored twice and added an assist in the win. Sam Clavijo and Jake Kuzmick also scored for the Knights, who received five saves in goal from Seth Walker.

Second seeded Immaculata enters the semifinals after a 4-0 victory over seventh seeded Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday. The Mighty Macs finished the season just ahead of Neumann in the conference standings with a record of 4-2.  The Knights will be hoping to flip the script on the two teams' earlier meeting this season, when the Mighty Macs prevailed at Neumann on October 20th by a score of 2-0. The Knights outshot Immaculata by a count of 15-7 on the night, but could not put a ball in the back of the net. 
 
Neumann has been led all season offensively by senior Marlon Trejo, who leads the team with 10 goals and five assists. Trejo's 25 points this season rank him second in the conference. Clavijo and Yinger have also been excellent in their rookie seasons. Clavijo tops the Atlantic East with seven goals in conference play, while Yinger ranks fifth in the conference in points in conference play with seven (3 g, 2a). The Knights have also received outstanding contributions from midfielders Alex Lopez-LunaEddie ProudConnor Ryan and Chris Siemien.
 
Defensively, the team has been guided by outstanding goalkeeping from Seth Walker. The junior leads the conference with five shutouts overall, including three in conference play. He also ranks second in goals against average in conference play (1.12 gaa). Alex DuopuEdwin Guerrero and Gabe Romero have also been stalwarts on the Neumann back-line, each starting every conference contest.
 
Elsewhere around the conference, No. 1 Cabrini University will host No. 4 Marymount University. The winners of the two semifinal matchups will advance to the Atlantic East Conference Championship game this coming Saturday, November 6th at the highest remaining seed.
