ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over Wilson College on Saturday afternoon in its first match of the spring of 2021. Set scores were 25-16, 25-15 and 25-13.
Prior to the match, the Knights honored
Conner Kolek in his final season.
Freshman
Sean Dugan led the Knights with nine kills in his debut. Kolek added eight kills, including the match clincher.
Eric Van Horn tallied seven.
Jules Maiorano handed out 21 assists.
Kolek also added three service aces and six digs.
Leading by two in the first set, Kolek served the Knights to a 17-10 lead. Serves by Maiorano sealed the first set win, 25-16.
The Knights jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the second set. Sitting a set point, 25-10, the Phoenix were able to rally off five points, but Neumann was able to get set point and take the second set 25-15.
The Knights held control during the third set and with a kill by Kolek, Neumann took the third set 25-13 and the match 3-0.
Neumann (1-0) will host Valley Forge next Tuesday beginning at 7:00 PM.
