ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team fell to Cairn University 3-0 on Wednesday evening in the home finale. Set scores were 25-23, 25-15 and 25-16.
Conner Kolek led the Knights with six kills.
John Hoopes added four.
Jules Maiorano handed out 15 assists and 13 digs.
The first set was back and forth as the teams traded points throughout. Tied at 22, the Highlanders were able to string two points in a row to get to set point. The Knights stayed alive after a Cairn service error, but the Highlanders tallied a kill to take the first set 25-23.
Cairn used the momentum and scored the first four points of the second set. The Highlanders kept up the pressure and took the second set 25-15 and the third set 25-16.
Neumann (2-2) heads to Valley Forge on Tuesday for non-conference action beginning at 7:00 PM.
