PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team got back in the win column with a 3-0 win at the University of Valley Forge on Tuesday evening. Set scores were 25-21, 25-23 and 25-14.
Conner Kolek led the Knights with nine kills.
Jules Maiorano handed out 23 assists.
Brandon Baskerville tallied eight digs.
Thomas McConnell and
Eric Van Horn each added seven digs.
The first two sets were back and forth throughout. Tied at 21 in the first set, the Knights were able to take advantage of some Patriots miscues and come away with the 25-21 win. In the second set, Neumann held a late 23-19 lead. Valley Forge score four of the next five points for a 24-23 score. The Patriots couldn't get the tying point as they committed a service error and the Knights held on for the 25-23 second set win.
The Knights consistently added to their lead in the third set and built a 23-12 advantage. A Kolek kill brought Neumann to match point and a Valley Forge attack error gave the Knights the 25-14 third set win and 3-0 match win.
Neumann (3-2) will wrap up the spring season on Saturday when it travels to Wilson College. Action is slated to get underway at 1:00 PM.
