ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped at 15-4 decision to Cabrini University on Friday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference match-up.
Andrew Curran started the game on the mound and went 5.0 innings in the loss. He allowed seven runs, six earned, on 10 hits.
Brennan Hatala went 1.2 innings and allowed eight runs on seven hits.
Pat Leighton went the final 2.1 innings and allowed three hits and no runs.
The Cavaliers got on the board with a run in the first, four in the second and another one in the fourth for a 6-0 lead. In the bottom of the fourth,
Nick Glebocki singled with the bases loaded to score two runs.
Andrew Fowler then hit another bases loaded single for a pair of runs to cut into the Cabrini lead, 6-4.
Cabrini plated a run in the sixth and exploded for eight in the seventh en route to the 15-4 final.
Neumann (5-8, 2-8 Atlantic East) and Cabrini will meet again tomorrow. The conference doubleheader will get underway at 12:00 PM.
