Baseball Drops a Pair on the Road

RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann baseball team dropped a pair of contests at Cabrini University on Saturday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference action. The Cavaliers won by scores of 7-4 and 8-0.
 
Will Hart started the first game and went 5.2 innings. He allowed seven runs on nine hits. Tyler Szilagyi got the final out of the sixth inning.
 
Andrew Fowler and Andrew Curran each had three hits in the game as the Knights outhit the Cavaliers 11-10.
 
The Cavaliers took a 3-0 lead after two innings. The Knights got on the board in the top of the third. Fowler led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Colin Pollard. Zach Ray doubled to knock in Fowler. Cris Diaz then hit a two-run shot to tie the game at three.
 
Cabrini took the lead back in the fifth with two sacrifice flies. Neumann pulled back to within one, 5-4, in the sixth as Ryan Lopez singled to score Eric Jester. The Cavaliers added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth for the 7-4 final.
 
In the second game, Billy Hunt started the game and allowed eight runs on 12 hits over 4.0 innings. Nick Glebocki pitched three scoreless innings. Josh Cruz pitched a scoreless eighth inning.
 
Cabrini scored three runs in each of the first two innings and cruised to the 8-0 game two final.
 
Neumann (5-10, 2-10 Atlantic East) will be off next weekend and then head to Marywood for a single Atlantic East Conference game on May 7 before hosting the Pacers for a doubleheader on May 8.
