ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team will be the No. 4 seed in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs and will head to Dover, Del. For Pod A action this weekend.
Wesley is the No. 1 seed and will host Neumann and No. 6 seed Immaculata in Pod A. Cabrini, the No. 2 seed, will host Marywood (No. 3 seed) and Gwynedd Mercy (No. 5 seed) in Pod B. All action is double elimination.
The Knights are currently 9-11 overall and 7-11 in conference action.
Bri Lagroteria,
Rachel Albertson,
Elizabeth Shire and
Kristen Pagliaro have started all 20 contests.
Lagroteria is batting .392 heading into the postseason. She notched her 100
th career hit last weekend with a double against Marywood. The senior has a team high 29 hits and has scored 19 runs.
Albertson is batting .350 with 21 hits, including four doubles and two homeruns. The senior has drawn 12 walks and knocked in 13 runs.
Shire is batting .367 and has knocked in a team-high 19 runs. Of her 22 hits, eight are doubles and she has hit a homerun. Pagliaro is batting .348 and has scored 18 runs while knocking in 12. The freshman is 8-for-8 in stolen bases.
Four Knights have split time in the circle this season.
Jess Sarni is 3-5 with five complete games and has pitched 45.0 innings.
Ashlynne Scardino is 4-3 and has pitched 43.0 innings with four complete games.
Janiece Robles has pitched 30.0 innings and has an ERA of 2.80.
Ashley Mazzeo has pitched 16.0 innings over four appearances.
The Wolverines took all four contests with the Knights the season. Against the Mighty Macs, the teams split 2-2, each going 1-1 at their home field.
Wesley and Immaculata will get the action started on Friday morning at 10:00 AM. Neumann and Immaculata will then face-off at 12:00 PM. Neumann and Wesley will round out the days action at 2:00 PM.

The winner of each pod will advance to the championship series, which will be held at the highest remaining seed on Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15.
