ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team took a pair of wins at the Buttermaker Tournament at Muhlenberg College on Saturday. The Knights won over Gallaudet and Muhlenberg by 3-1 scores.
Ariana Pena was named to the All-Tournament team.
Against Gallaudet, Pena tallied 21 kills and a .665 hitting percentage.
Regan Hickey added 17 kills.
Dani Smith handed out 29 assists while
Catie Esslinger dished out 17 assists.
Bre Hickey led four Knights in double-digits in digs with 17.
Tori Burgess added 14, R. Hickey 13 and Esslinger 10.
The Knights dropped the first set in a 28-26 battle. Neumann came back to take the next three 25-20, 25-22 and another 28-26 battle for the 3-1 win.
Against the Muhles, Pena again notched double-digit kills with 10. Esslinger tallied 11 assists. Burgess had 14 digs and Smith added 13. R. Hickey served up five service aces.
The Knights took the first set 25-23. Muhlenberg came back and tied the match at ones with a 25-19 set two win. Neumann then took the match with a 25-8 set three and 25-18 set four wins.
Neumann (4-4) heads to Penn State Berks on Tuesday for a single match beginning at 6:00 PM.
