ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team dropped a 6-0 decision to William Paterson University on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers opened the scoring in the 10
th minute. William Paterson added another goal off a rebound in the 27
th minute. Just before the end of the second quarter, the Pioneers scored off a penalty corner for a 3-0 lead at the half.
William Paterson scored its fourth goal in the 38
th minute. The Pioneers sealed the win with two goals in the final four minutes of regulation for the 6-0 final.
Megan Frame started the game in net and made seven saves.
Ava Irwin tallied five saves in the second half. Despite the score, the Knights battled throughout the game and did force two penalty corners in the offensive zone.
Neumann (2-6) will host Notre Dame of Maryland university on Wednesday afternoon. Action is slated to get started at 4:00 PM.
