GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team picked up an Atlantic East Conference win, 3-1, over Gwynedd Mercy University on Friday evening.
Regan Hickey led the Knights with 19 kills and 17 digs.
Dani Smith handed out 32 assists.
Claudia Bournazel tallied 14 digs and six service aces.
Lauren Garvey added 11 digs and Smith had 10.
The Knights started the evening scoring 10 of the first 12 points for 10-2 lead. A Bournzael service aces gave Neumann the 25-11 first set win.
The second set when back and forth and the Griffins came away with a 25-23 win to tie the match at one.
In set three, Neumann took a 7-6 edge and increased it to a 12-6 advantage.
Julez Cloran tallied two service aces in a row to finish the set with a 25-16 win.
Set four went back and forth until the Knights took an 18-17 lead and rattled off seven straight points for a 25-17 set four win and 3-1 match win.
Neumann (8-15, 1-2 Atlantic East) will host Centenary on Tuesday for more conference action beginning at 7:00 PM.
