ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team had the chance to host No. 4 Kutztown University on Saturday afternoon in a DII vs. DIII contest.
Emma Schneider made her first start in net for the Knights. The sophomore was busy, making 14 saves in net.

Rachel Straub stepped up with the defense with a starter missing for the contest and both played well.
The Knights had some moments in the game to move forward but could not get any pressure on goal. Just before the end of the first quarter, Neumann got the ball into the offensive zone, but could not get a shot towards the cage.
The Golden Bears struck early and opened the scoring in the first two minutes. Kutztown netted four goals in a four-minute span for a 5-0 score after the first.
The Knights defense made it until eight seconds left in the second quarter before the Golden Bears scored again for a 6-0 score at the half.
Kutztown added four goals in the third and another in the fourth for the final.
Neumann (3-10) returns to conference action on Wednesday when it hosts St. Mary's College of Maryland. Action is slated to get underway at 4:00 PM.
