GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision at Gwynedd Mercy University Saturday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference action.  
 
Emma Schneider started in net for the Knights and made 10 saves. Neumann tallied two shots, both on goal, coming from Grace Ginty. Mia Black brought energy to the game as she played multiple positions throughout the 60 minutes.
 
The game remained scoreless until the final minute of the first quarter when the Griffins opened the scoring. Gwynedd Mercy tallied two more goals in the second quarter in the 20^th and just before half for a 3-0 score at the break.
 
Gwynedd Mercy netted two more goals in the third quarter in a three-minute span for the 5-0 final. Ginty's shots came had her two chances to spoil the shutout in the final five minutes of the third, but she couldn't get the ball into the cage.
           
The Knights had back-to-back penalty corners in the fourth quarter to again to break up the shutout, but could not get a shot off.
 
Neumann (3-12, 0-5 Atlantic East) wraps up the regular season on Wednesday when it travels to Cabrini. The Atlantic East contest is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
