ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's volleyball team defeated Centenary University 3-0 in an Atlantic East first round match on Tuesday evening.

Regan Hickey led the Knights with 11 kills, followed by Maria Brown with nine and Jules Dill with seven. Dani Smith handed out 31 assists.  Claudia Bournazel had 17 digs and five service aces. Hickey added four service aces and 12 digs.  

The first set started with both teams trying to get ahead of one another as the points were going back and forth. Leading 6-5, the Knights built an 18-9 advantage. Neumann scored seven of the final eight points, capped on a kill by Brown, to take the set 25-11.

Down 2-1 early in the second set, the Knights took the next six points for a 7-2 score. Kills by Anna Mansel and Dill put Neumann up 24-18. After a Cyclones kill, Centenary had an attack error for a 25-19 set two win for the Knights.

The Knights took an early 6-2 lead in the third set. The Cyclones came back within one, 8-7. Neumann then scored eight straight points for a 16-7 advantage. A kill by Jack Delaney sealed the 25-15 third set win and 3-0 match win.

Neumann (12-18) will head to Marymount on Thursday for Atlantic East semifinal action beginning at 7:00 PM.
