ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann Women's ice hockey team lost its United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) matchup against Alvernia University on Friday night 4-0.
The ten minutes of the first period went scoreless as both teams had scoring chances. At 11:01 into the game, Alvernia broke through with the lone goal of the first period.
The Golden Wolves score two more goals in the second period in a five-minute span. Alvernia added an insurance goal in the third period. All goals came at even strength.
Michelle Winand-Bacon made 37 saves between the pipes. Alvernia outshot the Knights 41-26.
Gabby Massa led Neumann with five shots while
Lian Sydorowicz added four. Neumann's best chance came in the third period on a give-and-go, but the Knights hit the post.
Neumann (0-7, 0-5 UCHC) heads to Alvernia tomorrow for the back end of the home-and-home. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM.
