PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Neumann men's ice hockey team fell 2-1 at Chatham University in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) matchup on Saturday night.
The Cougars scored quickly, finding the back of the net just 41 seconds into the game. Chatham took the 1-0 lead after the first 20 minutes.
The Knights tallied 20 shots in the second period, including eight shots on goal between three and six-minute mark. The shots finally paid off when
Yancy Whitaker put one in the back of the net at the 15:33 mark.
Nate Dunning tallied the assist on the power play goal.
Chatham broke the 1-1 tie with a goal on the man-advantage 12:56 into the third period.
Tyler Kulas, Dunning and Whitaker all had five shots in the game.
Cole DeFazio made 35 in net.
Neumann (2-5, 1-4 UCHC) will host Assumption University next weekend for a pair of non-conference games. Puck drop is set for 4:00 PM on Saturday.
