ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's ice hockey team came from behind to defeat Assumption University 5-4 in overtime on Sunday afternoon.
Brady Mistler scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime.
Tyler Kulas handed out two assists. Just 54 seconds into overtime, Mistler stole the puck at the Greyhound blueline and scored on the short breakaway for the 5-4 final.Â
The Greyhounds opened the scoring quickly, netting two shorthanded goals in the first minute of play after starting the game a man down. Mistler cut the lead in half at the 2:13 mark with
Yancy Whitaker and Kulas tallying the assists. Assumption netted two more goals in the period, both coming on the man-advantage, for a 4-1 score after the first 20 minutes.

Midway through the second period,
Chase Cochran tallied his first collegiate goal for a 4-2 score.
Ben Gibbons and
PJ Demitrio had the assists. A few minutes later,
Luke Croucher pulled the Knights to within one, 4-3. Kulas and
Cameron Hatziioannou notched the assists. Assumption held the 4-3 advantage at the second intermission.

In the final minute of regulation, the Knights pulled their goalie while on the power play. This set up for
Wyatt Wong to tally his first goal of the season to tie the game at four and complete the comeback.

Cole DeFazio was busy in net, making 40 saves for the win. The Greyhounds outshot the Knights 44-24. Mistler led Neumann with five shots. The Knights had two major penalties to kill-off and allowed just one goal. For Assumption, 17 of its shots were on the man-advantage.

Neumann (3-6) gets back into conference action next weekend when its travels to Lebanon Valley on Friday. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM. Â
