Men’s Soccer Heads to Marymount for 2022 Atlantic East Championship

ASTON, Pa. – The men's soccer team heads to Marymount University on Saturday to play for the 2022 Atlantic East Championship.
 
The Knights are 7-7-2 overall and went 5-1 in conference play to earn the No. 2 seed. The Saints are 12-6 and also went 5-1 in the Atlantic East to be the No. 1 seed.
 
In the semifinals, Neumann and Cabrini tied at two. Jake Kuzmick scored both goals for the Knights. Seth Walker made 10 saves in net. Neumann then advanced on penalty kicks, 6-5.
 
Neumann is currently lead by Kuzmick. The sophomore has scored nine goals, three of which are game-winners, and added four assists. Eddie Proud, Javier Mejia and Gianni Smith have all added four goals. Jon Zubert has added a pair of goals and four assists.
 
Walker has played and started in 14 of the 16 games this season. In over 1200 minutes, the senior keeper has a 1.26 goals-against-average and has made 53 saves.
 
In the regular season meeting between the Knights and Saints, Marymount came away with a 1-0 win with a goal on a corner kick in the final minute of play. Walker made four saves in the game.
 
The winner of the game on Saturday will be crowned the 2022 Atlantic East Champions and will receive the AQ from the conference to the NCAA Tournament.
