SELINGSGROVE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team picked up a 76-68 win at Susquehanna University on Saturday afternoon to wrap up the first half of the 2022-23 schedule
 
Jalen Vaughns led the Knights with a double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Tony James and TJ Lewis both scored 18 points. Ryan Starr put up nine points and nine rebounds. 
 
The Knights held the pace during the first half, holding the lead for most of the time. Susquehanna took the lead once in the half, 14-13, however the lead didn't last long as a jumper from Lewis put the Knights back ahead. A layup and free throw by Justin Smith gave Neumann its largest lead of the half, 21-13. Susquehanna continued to battle, and Neumann took a 36-34 edge into halftime.
 
The River Hawks scored the first five points of the second half to take a 39-36 lead. This set up seven tied scores and five lead changes throughout the rest of regulation. Tied at 64 with 3:03 on the clock, a jumper by Lewis and a layup by James put the Knights up by four with 1:40 on the clock. The last 1:25 came down to free throws as Susquehanna tied to foul to get back into the game. Neumann went 8-for-12 from the line to hold off a River Hawks comeback and take the 76-68 win.
 
Neumann (9-3) will not take the holiday off and will return to the court on January 5 when it hosts Penn State Lehigh Valley. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 PM.
