ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell to Buffalo State 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in the 2022 semester finale.
 
The Bengals opened the scoring with a power play goal 6:23 into the first period. Three minutes later, Brigitte Maikisch netted her first collegiate goal as she put in the rebound off a shot from Sydney Ladwig. At the 14:19 mark, Meg Landman also scored her first collegiate goal. Sidney Squires and Lian Sydorowicz tallied the assists to give Neumann a 2-1 lead.
 
At the 13:45 mark of the second, Buffalo State tied the game at two with another power play goal. The teams headed into the final period knotted at two.
 
Seven minutes into the third, the Bengals broke the tie with a goal. The Knights pulled the goalie to try and tie the game, but Buffalo State scored an empty net goal for the 4-2 final.
 
The Knights had their changes, including some breakaways, but they could not get another goal on the board.
 
Ally Joly made 49 saves in net for Neumann. The Knights had 24 shots in the game, led by Jasmine Martinez with four.
 
Neumann (2-10) will be off until the New Year. The Knights will host Lebanon Valley in UCHC action on Friday, January 6 beginning at 4:00 PM.
