ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's hockey team lost its United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) conference matchup to No. 10 Nazareth College on Friday nights, 5-0.
Michelle Winand-Bacon was busy in net and made 57 saves against the No. 10 team. The Knights were held to just four shots, three by
Taylor Ettore and one by
Gabby Massa.
Mikaylee Henhawk and
Emma Tauken each blocked four shots.
Sydney Ladwig added three blocked shots and the teams finished with 15.
The teams played to a scoreless first period. Nazareth broke through on the scoreboard midway through the second period. The Golden Flyers added a second goal four minutes later and took a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
In the third, Nazareth netted a power play goal 2:45 into the period. The Golden Flyers added two more goals for the 5-0 final.
Neumann (1-8, 1-6 UCHC) will host Nazareth again tomorrow afternoon. Faceoff is set for 2:00PM.
