ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's ice hockey team picked up a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) win against Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon 4-2.
Luke Croucher scored twice for the Knights, including the eventual game-winner.
Nate Dunning added a goal and two assists.
Brady Mistler and
Tyler Kulas each had two assists.
Cole DeFazio made 25 saves in net, including 12 in the first period. Neumann scored three power play goals.
Neumann scored quickly as Dunning found the back of the net on a power play 2:44 into the game. Kulas and Mistler had the helpers. The Knights tallied another goal on the man advantage nine minutes into the as Croucher scored his first goal. Mistler and Dunning drew the assists. Lebanon Valley cut the lead in half with a goal and the 15:39 mark. The Knights took the 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Flying Dutchmen tied the game early into the second period at the 3:25 mark of the period. The tie was short lived as Croucher scored his second goal just over a minute later. Dunning and Kulas grabbed the assists.
As time was winding down in the third period,
Dionne Demke scored an insurance goal on the power play.
PJ Demitrio won the face-off to
Ben Gibbons who got the puck to Demke in front of the net.
The Knights outshot the Flying Dutchmen 34-27. Dunning led Neumann with seven shots on goal.
TJ Ezzard added four.
Neumann (4-7, 2-5 UCHC) will have a month off for the semester break and will return to action on January 6. The Knights will host Arcadia beginning at 7:00 PM for a UCHC contest.
