ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's hockey team picked up a 6-2 win over Arcadia University on Friday evening in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) action
Brady Mistler netted a hat trick in the win. The Knights were on fire on the power play, going 5-for-7 on the night with the man-advantage.
Arcadia struck first with a shorthanded goal 12:16 into the first period. Neumann struck back and scored a power play goal on the same man-advantage as
Yancy Whitaker lit the lamp.
Tyler Kulas and Mistler tallied the assist on the goal. The teams went into the first intermission knotted at one.
Mistler scored his first goal of the game 1:39 into the second period. Kulas and
Luke Croucher notched the assists. Mistler netted his second goal four minutes later on the power play when he put in a rebound from
Nate Dunning. Arcadia scored an even strength goal before the end of the period for a 3-2 score heading into the third period.
The Knights scored three power play goals in the third period.
PJ Demitrio scored five minutes into the period off assists from
Cameron Hatziioannou Cole DeFazio. Mistler then notched his hat trick with a shot from the circle with 3:26 left in the game off a pass from Croucher.
Mykyta Volobuyev sealed the scoring with 1:24 on the clock.
Tyler Inlow and
Tyler Kennedy drew the assists.
DeFazio made 30 saves in net for the win. Mistler led the team with six shots.
Neumann (5-7, 3-5 UCHC) will head to Alvernia tomorrow for the second part of the home-and-home. Action is slated to begin at 3:30 PM.
