MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team split a pair of matches at the SEU Tri-match on Sunday afternoon. The Knights defeated Pratt Institute 3-0 before falling to host Saint Elizabeth 3-0.
In the win over Pratt, Neumann won by sets scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-16.
Eric Van Horn had 11 kills, no errors and a .611 hitting percentage to lead the Knights. The senior also added five service aces.
Jules Maiorano handed out 28 assists and crossed the 1,000 assist mark for his career.
Christian Johnson tallied 11 digs.
In the second match, the battled in the first set, but fell 30-28. Down 23-15, scored nine straight points for a 24-23 edge. The teams then went back and forth before Saint Elizabeth was able to notch two points for the set one win. The Eagles then took the next two sets 25-22 and 25-11.
TJ McConnell tallied eight kills in the match. Maiorano dished out 15 assists. Maiorano, McConnell and Johnson each added six digs.
Neumann (4-5) will host Cairn on Tuesday beginning at 7:00 PM.
