ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team is the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic East Conference postseason after finishing 10-2 in conference action and 18-7 overall.
 
Neumann will host No. 7 seeded Marywood in a first-round game on Monday evening. The Knights defeated the Pacers in both meetings during the regular season. Up in Scranton, Neumann brought home an 85-66 win. Jalen Vaughns led four Knights in double-figures with 20 points, while adding 11 rebounds. Tony James netted 14 points while Ryan Starr tallied 12 and KJ Speller added 10.
 
In the final home game of the regular season, Neumann defeated Marywood 76-63. Speller led the team with 23 points in the game. Vaughns tallied 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Starr sunk 14 points and handed out six assists. James added 11 points.
 
Neumann is led by Vaughns, who is averaging 22.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per game over the 25 contests. The sophomore leads the team with 28 blocks. James is adding 10.6 points and Lewis tallies 9.3 points per game.  
 
Starr leads the team in three-pointers with 33 this season while also handing out 104 assists and taking 31 steals. James has dished out 58 assists and Lewis 55.
 
The other first round games will feature No. 3 Gwynedd Mercy hosting No. 6 Centenary while No. 4 Cabrini hosts No. 5 Immaculata.
 
The winner of the Cabrini/Immaculata game will head to No. 1 seeded Marymount on Wednesday in a semifinal contest. The winner of the Neumann/Marywood game will face the winner of the Gwynedd Mercy/Centenary contest in the other semifinal game. The semifinal winners will meet at the highest remaining seed on Saturday for the 2022 Atlantic East Conference Championship.
