ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team used a quick start to fly past Cedar Crest College 14-3 on Saturday afternoon.
Maggie Blemings had two goals and two assists to lead the Knights.
Reilly Fiedler netted three goals.
Brylin Adams notched two goals and an assist.
Cionni Warrington added a goal and two assists.
Bekah Brosky scored two goals and
Abby Kelton added two assists.
Catriona Corrigan started the game and made a save in the first 15 minutes for the win.
Ava Irwin made two saves over the final three quarters.
Blemings started the scoring just 12 seconds into the game off an assist from Adams. The Knights went on to score four goals in the first 10 minutes. Cedar Crest scored at the 7:48 mark of the first, but Neumann answered with two more goals for a 6-1 lead after the first quarter.
Lauren Carson found the back of the net in the second quarter, and Fiedler added two goals. Cedar Crest netted the final two goals of the half for a 9-3 score at halftime.
Laura Plisinski and
Leia DiNuova each tallied their first collegiate goals in the third quarter. Fiedler wrapped up the scoring in the fourth quarter.
The Knights outshot the Falcons 26-8 in the game and Neumann was 9-for-10 in clear attempts. The Knights also took 14 draw controls, led by Fiedler and
Lian Sydorowicz with three each.
Neumann (6-4) will host Cairn University on Tuesday in the final tune-up before conference play starts next weekend. Tuesday's action is slated to get underway at 4:00 PM.
