BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team blanked Bryn Athyn College 7-0 on Wednesday evening.
Rachel Koerner found the back of the cage four times in the win.
Grace Ginty scored a pair of goals.
Kylie Fitchett tallied a goal and two assists.
MiKayla Brown and
Elle Smith each handed out two assists.
The Knights outshot the Lions 24-2 overall and 26-1 on net. Neumann led in penalty corners 11-5.
Ginty put the Knights on the board in the 11
th minute off an assist from Brown. Koerner netted two goals in the second quarter, one assisted by Fitchett and the other by Brown, for a 3-0 Neumann lead at the half.
Koerner scored her third and fourth goals in the first two minutes of the second half. Fitchett netted her goal in the 43
rd minute for a 6-0 lead after third quarter. Smith tallied two assists on those goals.
Ginty scored her second goal with nine seconds left in regulation, off a pass from
Ang Quillen, and the 7-0 final.
Meg Frame started the game in net and did not face a shot.
Emma Schneider played the second half and stopped the lone shot she saw.
Neumann (2-1) returns home on Saturday when it welcomes Delaware Valley. Action is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
