WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team opened the 2023 season at King's College (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon. The Knights fell to the Monarchs 3-0 with set scored being 25-9, 25-12, 25-17.
Manny Waugh led the Knights with eight kills in his collegiate debut.
Veryl Burns tallied five and
TJ McConnell added four.
Christian Johnson handed out 17 assists.
In the third set, a kill by Burns and a service ace by Waugh pulled Neumann within two, 18-16. The Monarchs answered by scoring seven of the next eight points to win the set.
Neumann (0-1) heads to Widener on Tuesday for its next match beginning at 7:00 PM.
