COLMAR, Pa. – In the first half of a home-and-home series, the Neumann University Women's Ice Hockey team were dealt a 6-0 loss by their United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) rivals, Arcadia University, on Friday night.
Arcadia got on the board just 2:37 into the game then added a power play goal with 7:50 left in the first, going into the first intermission leading 2-0. They spread their advantage with three more goals in the middle stanza, the final one a power play goal with just over a minute left. Arcadia closed the scoring 2:02 into the third period.
Goaltender
Ally Joly made 44 saves in tonight's effort while
Gia Santorello and
Emma Tauken did their part defensively with three blocked shots each. Captain
Sidney Squires led the offense with three shots on goal and
Alyssa Papasodero won eight of the 12 face-offs she took.
Neumann (5-11, 4-9 UCHC) and Arcadia will conclude this weekend's home-and-home series, at the IceWorks Skating Complex on Saturday afternoon. The opening face-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
