Knights Drop Conference Game to Manhattanville

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Ice Hockey suffered a 5-2 loss to their United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) rivals, the Manhattanville College Valiants, on Friday night.
 
After the Knights gave up the opening goal at the 3:57 mark of the first, they settled down with the tying goal with 8:21 left in the period. With two seconds left on a five-on-three power play, Tyler Kulas scored his fifth goal of the season. It was assisted by Luke Croucher and Nate Dunning.

53 seconds into the second, the Knights took the lead on Tyson Rohrer's second of the season. TJ Ezzard earned the lone assist on the play. Manhattanville quickly equalized with a goal just 33 seconds later, evening the game at two. The Valiants took the lead with 4:31 remaining in the period. The third period went scoreless for the first five minutes before Manhattanville doubled their lead. Late in the third, they added an empty netter to seal the game.

In addition to his goal, Kulas led the way with eight shots on goal while winning 22 of the 29 faceoffs he took. Chase Cochran followed up with six shots of his own. Cole DeFazio got the start between the pipes and picked up 26 saves on the night.

Neumann (6-12 4-9 UCHC) will be back in action tomorrow afternoon to conclude this weekend's two-game series against Manhattanville. The action is scheduled to start at 4pm.
