ST. MARY'S CITY, Md – The Neumann University field hockey team lost its Atlantic East Conference game to St. Mary's College of Maryland on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 8-0.
Emma Schneider started the game in the cage and made four saves.
Caley Gee took over the second half and had a save. The Knights had a shot in the game, coming from
Jamie Reed.
St. Mary's scored early and finished with four goals in the first quarter. The Knights had a scoring opportunity in the first quarter with a corner opportunity taken by Reed, but they could not find the back of the net. Tacking two more goals in the second quarter by the Seahawks, Schneider was busy in goal making four saves.
The Seahawks scored two more goals in the third quarter followed by one more in the fourth quarter making the score 8-0.
Neumann (3-10, 1-2 Atlantic East) is scheduled to play Meredith College Friday night in a non-conference matchup beginning at 4:00 PM.
