ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Field Hockey team got back into the win column on Friday afternoon with a 3-1 non-conference win over Meredith College.
Cadence Conti grabbed the first goal for the Knights within the first three minutes of the game with an assist from
Natalie Zoffer. Neumann was able to pick up another goal within the first quarter coming from
Grace Ginty and an assist from
Brigitte Maikisch.
With six minutes left in the game, Neumann's
Jacki Connolly was able to find the back of the net to stretch the lead to 3-0. The Avenging Angels were able to squeak a goal in with two minutes remaining to take away the shutout for the Knights.
Emma Schneider came away with four saves in this contest. Neumann had total of 11 shots on goal, with
Cadence Conti leading the way with four shots, two on goal.
Jessica Silver had three shots and Ginty had two, both forcing a save on two of their shots.
Neumann (4-10, 1-2 Atlantic East) will travel to Immaculata on Saturday to take on the Mighty Macs in an Atlantic East Conference game. This game is slated to begin at 3:00 PM.
