ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Field Hockey team dropped a 5-1 conference decision on their home turf on Wednesday night, against Cabrini University.
The first half of play was scoreless with the Knights defense holding strong. Cabrini dominated possession for a majority of the game, but Neumann's back line and goalie
Caley Gee were able to hold their ground keeping the score at 0-0 up until the half.
Within the first minute of the third quarter the Cavaliers were able to strike first. Two minutes later Cabrini added to their lead making the score 2-0.
Neumann's
Jacki Connolly cut the score in half within the first two minutes of the fourth quarter. With the momentum on the Knights side, it quickly dwindled away when Cabrini racked up three more goals in the fourth quarter bringing the score to 5-1.
Connolly led the Knights with three shots and two of them being on goal. Gee had six saves in goal and
Elle Smith had a defensive save.
Neumann (2-9, 0-1 Atlantic East) will have another conference matchup this Saturday against Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday afternoon. This contest will begin at 4:00 P.M.
