ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team celebrated senior day with a 1-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday in Atlantic East Conference action.
Prior to the game, the Knights honored its senior class:

Torie Millward scored the lone goal of the game with just 30 second left before halftime. The ball was shot towards the front of the net and Millward was able to tip the ball past the Griffins keeper.
Elle Smith tallied the assist on the goal.
Emma Schneider got the start in net for Neumann and made nine saves in net for her first collegiate shutout.
Jamie Reed picked up a huge defensive save to keep Gwynedd Mercy off the board.
The win over the Griffins is the first for the Knights since November 4, 2009 on the road in a Colonial States Athletic Conference semifinal game. The last time Neumann defeated Gwynedd Mercy at home was on October 8, 2008.
The win over a conference opponent is also the first for head coach
Erik Enters.
Neumann (3-9, 1-1 Atlantic East) heads to St. Mary's (Md.) on Wednesday to continue Atlantic East play.
