ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Ice Hockey Team suffered a 4-0 loss to Alvernia University in a UCHC conference game on Friday afternoon.
The Knights had three power plays in the first period but could not convert any goals on their advantage. Only one goal was allowed throughout the first period on a breakaway by Alvernia with 13:33 remaining.
In the second period, Alvernia was able to strike twice bringing the score to 3-0. The Knights started to put on the pressure firing seven shots on goal throughout the frame.
In the third period, Alvernia was able to tack on another goal making the score 4-0.
Jasmine Martinez led Neumann with five shots, followed by
Gia Santorello with four.
Michelle Winand-Bacon had a total of 30 saves for the Knights.
Neumann (4-4-0, 0-3-0 UCHC) will travel to Alvernia on Saturday to take on the Golden Wolves. This game is slated for a 2:00 P.M. start.
