ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team hung on for a 3-2 United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) win over Chatham University on Saturday afternoon to earn a weekend split.
Four of the games five goals were scored in the second period. To get the scoring started in the first period,
Hunter Litman took a shot from just inside the blue line off an assist from
JD Speer.
The Cougars tied the game just 41 seconds into the second period. Chatham then took a 2-1 lead three minutes later with a power play goal. The Knights tallied a shorthanded goal just over two minutes later as
Tyler Kulas scored off an assist from
Chase Cochran and the games was knotted at two.
Midway through the second,
Brady Mistler found the puck after a scrum in front of the net and put it in the back of the net.
TJ Ezzard and
Luke Croucher had the assists on the eventual game-winner.
Cole DeFazio made 29 saves in net for the win.
Neumann (3-5, 3-4 UCHC) will host Lebanon Valley after the Thanksgiving break on December 1. UCHC action gets underway at 7:00 PM.
