ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Basketball team dropped a 73-66 decision to the Alvernia University Golden Wolves in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday evening.
 
The Knights got off to a quick start leading 5-3 after 52 seconds but Alvernia went on a 12-2 run over the next four minutes for an eight-point advantage. Neumann regrouped to pull even at 15, thanks to a stretch capped off by a 
TJ Lewis layup. The Golden Wolves regained the lead and extended it to 11 before the Knights deficit fell to 10 at the break.
 
Once again, Neumann started off hot with another eight point push over the first 3:07 of the second half, pulling within three.  Seven minutes later, Alvernia pushed the lead to 13. With just over five minutes remaining in regulation, the Knights attempted to claw back into the game, pulling back within five, but they ran out of time.
 
Jalen Vaughns led the way with another double-double, finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He added three assists and two blocked shots. Lewis followed with 15 points and 
Kyle Thompson added 10. 
Jarell Keel was a defensive force off of the bench with a team-high 12 boards and five steals.
 
Neumann(2-4) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they visit Salisbury University. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
