UTICA, N.Y. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey team suffered an 11-0 loss to the number nine team in the country, the Utica University Pioneers, in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers got the scoring started at the 3:03 mark of the first period and picked up five goals over the first 20 minutes. Utica would add three more in the second to take an 8-0 break into the final period. The Knights did all they could to get on the board in the third, but the Pioneers put together three more goals to close out the game.
Emma Tauken and
Jamiyah Alexander led the Neumann offense with three shots on goal each.
Ella Sciborski got the start in goal, making 52 saves in 45 minutes of play.
Noelle Woodward mopped up, making three saves over the last 15 minutes.
Neumann(4-6-1, 0-5-1 UCHC) will be back in action on Friday night as they host Chatham University in the first of two conference games over next weekend. Puck drop from the IceWorks Skating Complex is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
