ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball traveled to Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon and dropped a 72-66 decision.
Jalen Vaughns led the Knights with 18 points.
Jarell Keel added 12 points.
TJ Lewis tallied 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Kyle Thompson notched 11 points.
Ja'bri White finished with nine points.
The Knights opened the game on a 7-0 run. With Neumann leading 18-10 with 12:57 on the clock, Lebanon Valley scored the next seven points to pull within one. The Knights answered with the next six for a 24-17 lead. With 3:20 left before regulation, the Dutchmen took a 27-26 edge. The teams traded three-pointers before the half for a 30-29 score at the break.
A Vaughns layup with 15:45 tied the game at 38. Lebanon Valley netted the next six points and would not relinquish the lead the for the rest of the game. Each team would have mini runs and the Dutchmen would lead anywhere from two to 10.
With a minute left on the clock, Lebanon Valley led 68-61. White scored five straight points to pull the Neumann within two, 68-66. The Dutchmen went 4-for-4 from the line in the final 15 seconds to seal the 72-66 win.
Neumann (2-8) will host Susquehanna next Saturday in the final game before the Christmas break. Action is slated to begin at 2:00 PM.
