ASTON, Pa. – On a day when the team bid adieu to December grads,
Jasmine Martinez and
Michelle Winand-Bacon, the Neumann University Women's Hockey team suffered a 4-0 loss to the Chatham University Cougars.
Chatham took control of the game starting at the 12:19 mark. They made it a 2-0 lead 3:30 left. They picked up a shorthanded goal in the second and added a third in the late stages of the third period.
Neumann's effort was led by
Gia Santorello's five shots on goal. She also had six blocked shots.
Rachel Frederick added three shots while
Jenna Calchi and
Emma Tauken had two shots on goal each. Winand-Bacon made 35 saves in goal.
Neumann(4-8-1, 0-7-1 UCHC) will be back in action on Friday, January 12 when they host Lebanon Valley College in another UCHC match-up. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
