Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Knights Drop Decision at Stevenson

REISTERSTOWN, Md. – The Neumann University Men's Ice Hockey team took a trip down I-95 to take on their United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) rivals, the Stevenson University Mustangs, suffering a 4-1 loss.

Stevenson was able to strike first on a power play goal a little over four minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Although the Knights looked to equalize, the score would remain the same heading into the second. With just over five minutes left in the middle period, the Mustangs doubled their lead on a shorthanded marker. Stevenson added another power play goal at the 19:23 mark of the frame for a 3-0 lead.

In the third, with 7:46 on the clock, the Mustangs added a fourth goal on a two-on-none breakaway. With 1:54 remaining in regulation, the Knights got on the board to avoid the shutout. While on the power play, Zach Thompson scored his second goal of the season, on a one-timer, but Neumann could not come any closer.

Cole DeFazio got the start in goal and made 27 saves. Tyler Kulas led the Knights with seven shots on goal. Nate Dunning followed with five shots while Brady Mistler and Yancy Whitaker had four each.

Neumann (6-14, 4-11 UCHC) will return to action, Saturday night at IceWorks, once again against Stevenson to close out this weekend's home-and-home series. The game is scheduled for a 4pm start.
