ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team picked up an 80-62 win over Immaculata University in Atlantic East Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
Kyle Thompson led the Knights with 19 points.
Tony James added 14 points.
TJ Lewis tallied 12 points and seven rebounds.
Ja'bri White added 10 points off the bench.
Ryan Starr added eight points, eight assists, six boards and four steals.
Justin Smith also tallied eight points.
The first part of the game went back and forth with five lead changes. With 8:40 left in the first half, a free throw by Thompson gave Neumann a 23-16 lead, the largest of the half. Immaculata netted the next eight points to take a 24-23 edge. Over the next three minutes, there were five lead changes and three tied scores. Two free throws by White put the Knights up 33-32 and they would hold the lead for the rest of the half. A White rebound before the end of the half put Neumann up 43-37 at the break.
At the 17:16 mark of the second half, a layup-and-one by Lewis put the Knights up by double-digits, 50-39. Neumann continued to build its lead throughout the second half and held a 20-point advantage, 72-52, with 5:11 left in regulation and the Knights came away with the win.
Neumann (15-6, 5-3 Atlantic East) will host Marymount on Wednesday night at 8:00 PM for more Atlantic East Conference action.
