ASHLAND, Va. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the Randolph-Macon Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Knights fell to the host Yellow Jackets 3-0 before dropping to Marymount University 3-0.
Against Randolph-Macon, set scores were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-12.
Veryl Burns tallied 12 kills. Burns was named to the All-Tournament team after his strong match against the Yellow Jackets.
TJ McConnell added six.
Christian Johnson handed out 23 assists.
Brandon Baskerville tallied nine digs.
In the first set, the teams battle back and forth and were tied at 18 before the Yellow Jackets scored the final seven points.
In the match against Marymount, set scores were 25-11, 25-6 and 25-4. Johnson dished out eight assists. Baskerville notched five digs.
Neumann (0-6) comes home on Tuesday for a contest against Bryn Athyn. The match is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
