Fagan Hits Century Mark as Knights Win Big at Wilkes

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team took a trip up the Northeast Extension and defeated the Wilkes University Colonels, 17-2, in a non-conference match-up on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Knights pulled ahead just 20 seconds into the game on a Brylin Adams goal. They scored two more goals, 1:03 apart, thanks to Lindsey Fagan and Cionni Warrington. Adams closed out the quarter with an unassisted goal with 5:07 left for a 4-0 lead after one.
 
Neumann continued to pour on the offense as Fagan and Maggie Miller struck early in the second. 30 seconds later, Fagan picked up her third goal of the game and 100th of her career. She would score one more time before Wilkes finally broke the run with two goals of their own. Lauren Carson, Fagan, and Brylin Adams, who scored twice, would close out the half with four goals in the last 2:35 for a 12-2 lead at the break.
 
Maggie Blemings scored the lone goal of the third quarter with three seconds left. Ally Joly, Blemmings gave the Knights a 13-goal advantage then Carson scored two late goals with an extra player to complete the hat-trick and close out the offense.
 
Fagan finished with five goals and three assists, with six draw controls. Brylin Adams had four goals and three assists, with two ground balls, and three draw controls. Blemmings had two goals and three assists with two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Catriona Corrigan had the win in goal with five saves.
 
Neumann (4-1) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon for another non-conference game, this time against Goucher College. The game is scheduled for a 1pm start on the Turf Field.
