Knights Pull Away in Win Against Goucher

ASTON, Pa. – Lindsey Fagan and Brylin Adams each put up six goals as the Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team rolled to a 17-8 win over Goucher College, in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.
 
Neumann took an early lead when Jayana Murray scored 2:23 into the game. Cionni Warrington put home a man-down goal four and a half minutes later. With 6:06 left in the first, Fagan struck twice in 34 seconds, giving the Knights a 4-0 lead. Goucher was able to end the run with just under five minutes left in the quarter. Fagan scored twice more in the quarter, sandwiching a Chatham goal, and the Knights had a 6-2 lead after 15 minutes.
 
Brylin Adams got her offensive day started with two goals over the first nine minutes of the second. Fagan added two more as well at the 5:17 and 3:30 marks. The Gophers scored a man up goal to close the quarter and Neumann had a 10-3 lead.
 
Brylin Adams came out of the break on fire, scoring four of the next five goals and with 4:53 left in the third, Neumann had a 10 goal lead. Goucher closed out the quarter but the Knights grabbed the next three goals, as Warrington notched her second of the game, and Maggie Miller bagged two straight, for a 17-5 advantage. Although the Gophers scored the last three goals, they ran out of time.
 
In addition to her six spot, Fagan picked up three ground balls, caused two turnovers, and secured four draw controls. Brylin Adams also had four draw controls, going 4 for 5 in free position shots. Maggie Blemings was key offensively, leading the Knights with three assists. Catriona Corrigan need just three saves to pick up the win.
 
Neumann (5-1), winners of five straight, will return to action on Tuesday as they head to Lancaster Bible College. The game is scheduled for a 4pm start.
