ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Wilkes University on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-18, 25-23 and 27-25.
Veryl Burns tallied 11 kills.
Christian Johnson handed out 13 assists while
Gianni Smith dished out 10.
Brandon Baskerville and Smith each notched nine digs.
Sets two and three went back and forth til the end. Tied at 21 late in set two, Wilkes tallied three points to pull within set point. The Knights scored two points before a Colonels kill sealed the set win.
Looking to end the match, Wilkes held a 23-21 advantage in the third set. Neumann scored three of the next four points to pull even at 24. The teams traded points before the Colonels tallied two straight kills for the set and match win.
Neumann (5-15) heads to Bryn Athyn on Saturday for action beginning at 3:00 PM.
