ASTON, Pa, - On Wednesday afternoon, the Neumann University Baseball fell to the Rowan University Profs, the #11 team in the national D3baseball.com rankings, by a final score of 12-2 in non-conference action.

After a scoreless first inning, Rowan picked up the game's first run on a wild pitch in the second. In the top of the fifth, the Profs pushed through runs on a wild pitch, a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch, and an RBI single to extend the lead to 4-0.

Neumann tried to chip away at the deficit in the bottom of the inning as
Ryan Lopez,
Isaiah Payton, and
Jack Valentine, each singled to load the bases with nobody out.
Andrew Curran and
Cristian Diaz both hit RBI singles to cut the lead in half, but the inning was thwarted by a close play at the plate and a double play.

Rowan was able to pull away in the sixth inning on an two-run double and RBI single for a 7-2 lead. They scored five more in the seventh using two RBI singles, a two-run single, and RBI double down the left field line, and a final run scoring on a fielding error.

Morgan D'Amico pitched the final two-thirds of an inning and held the Profs scoreless.

Neumann (6-9), in their next action, will begin Atlantic East Conference play on Friday as they host the Cabrini University Cavaliers. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm at Bruder Field.
