Women’s Lacrosse Win Thriller in Overtime

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women' lacrosse team won an exciting back and forth game 12-11 in overtime over Hood College on Saturday.
 
Brylin Adams led the Knights with seven goals and the assist on the game-winning goal. She went 2-for-2 in free position shots. Lindsey Fagan tallied four goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist. Jayana Murray had a goal and an assist while Maggie Blemings and Lauren Carson each handed out an assist. Catriona Corrigan made eight saves in net for the win.
 
The Knights jumped out to a 4-0 in the first quarter with two goals each from Adams and Fagan. The Blazers took over the second quarter and scored five goals. Hood tied the game at four with 1:03 left before halftime and then took the 5-4 lead 27 seconds before the break.
 
Murray scored the first goal of the third quarter to tie the game at five and start the back and forth of the second half. Adams found the back of the net 31 seconds before the end of the third quarter to put Neumann up 9-7 heading into the final quarter of regulation.
 
The teams remained scoreless for almost the first six minute of the fourth. Hood then scored two goals in just over a minute to pull the game even at nine. Adams put Neumann back in the lead with 6:50 on the clock. The Blazers netted the next two goals to take an 11-10 lead with 4:53 left in regulation. With just over a minute left in regulation, Adams tied the game on a pass from Fagan to send the game into overtime.
 
Neither team could find the back of the net in the first three minutes. Just 12 seconds after switching side, Adams grabbed the ball and sprinted down the field. She dished the ball to Fagan who scored the game-winner.
 
Neumann (7-1) will host Swarthmore on Wednesday evening to look to extend its winning streak to eight. Action gets underway at 5:30 PM.
