ASTON, Pa. –
Maggie Blemings assisted on six goals as the Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team unended the Eastern University Eagles, 13-6, in non-conference play on Saturday afternoon.
Lindsey Fagan got the action rolling for Neumann 4:01 into the game.
Brylin Adams followed a little over two minutes later, then Fagan scored with 52 seconds left for a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. Eastern got their first goal of the game at the 13:12 mark but
Kara Dietrich responded with her second of the year just over a minute later. Fagan and
Brylin Adams scored back-to-back at 3:45 and 2:57 of the period, helping the Knights to a 6-1 lead at the half.
For the second straight quarter, Eastern scored the first goal but Neumann went on another three goal run. Fagan,
Brylin Adams, and
Maggie Miller, who scored her first of the year, extended the lead to seven. Eastern went on their own three goal run before Fagan scored with 22 seconds left in the third, giving the Knights a 10-5 lead.
Eastern once again scored to start the fourth but Neumann ended the game with another three consecutive goals.
Cionni Warrington scored her second of the season, then Fagan would convert before
Brynn Adams nabbed her first of the season to close out the game.
Fagan led the Knights attack with six goals.
Brylin Adams had three goals, an assist, and seven draw controls. Both Fagan and
Brylin Adams picked up their 100
th career draw control. Defensively,
Leia DiNuova led with four caused turnovers while Miller had three.
Catriona Corrigan made four saves to come up with the win in goal.
Neumann (2-1) will be back in action, next Saturday, as they visit DeSales University. The game is scheduled for a 12pm start.
