GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team defeated Gwynedd Mercy University 15-5 on Saturday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference action.
 
Lindsey Fagan led the Knights with five goals and an assist. Brylin Adams tallied four goals and an assist. Maggie Blemings notched three goals and handed out four assists for seven points. Ally Joly finished with a goal and an assist. Alison Mallon and Cionni Warrington each netted a goal.
 
Catriona Corrigan made seven saves in net. Fagan grabbed nine draw controls. Jayana Murray tallied five while adding two assists.
 
Joly opened the scoring 33 seconds into the game. The Griffins tied the game at one before the Knights netted the next seven for an 8-1 lead after the first quarter.
 
Neumann's streak continued as it scored the first two goals of the second quarter and outscored Gwynedd Mercy 4-1 for a 12-2 game heading into halftime.
 
The Knights opened the second half quickly as Fagan scored 40 seconds in. Two more goals by Adams but Neumann up 15-3 after three quarters. The Griffins scored the only two goals if the final quarter late in the fourth for the 15-5 final.
 
Neumann (10-3, 2-1 Atlantic East) heads to Marymount for more Atlantic East Conference action on Wednesday afternoon. The game is slated for begin at 4:00 PM.
